For who: Grades 2 and 3 Early French Immersion students
What: Cultural and linguistic activity package facilitated by a Francophone mentor
How: One individual and one group live online session
When: Fall 2026
Structure:
Duration: 20 minutes
Format: After school on Zoom
Timing: During the month of October 2026
Activities:
Choose: A French-speaking country of interest to explore
Explore: The chosen country by playing an interactive game
Create: A digital post about specific cultural element that sparked their interest
Benefits
Experience: A real-life 1:1 interaction with a Francophone mentor living in Madagascar
Use: The French skills they are learning at school to play and discover the world
Strengthen: Their connection to the French language and culture
Structure:
Duration: 40 minutes
Format: In-class group session via a large screen on Zoom
Timing: The first week of November (During the National Francophone Immigration Week)
Activities:
Discover: The cultural research their peers made during their individual activity.
Learn: About the rich diversity of Francophone culture within Canada.
Create: A personal cultural presentation by creating a drawing and short-sentence composition.
Reflect : By Completing a self-assessment aligned with Core Competencies.

Donations are limited, we encourage registration prior to the end of the school year 2025/2026.
Mixed group
The group class is mixed (1/2 or 3/4) : can the class still receive the donation? Yes, the class can still receive the donation. We will adapt the facilitation accordingly.
Data privacy
Are students datas collected for the individual activity? No data are collected prior, during or after the activity.
Core competencies
It is mentioned that the activity is connected to Core Competencies. What are they and can I use my own self-assessment for the activity? The Sub-competencie Positive Personal and Cultural Identity and Communicationes, and yes you can use your own assessment sheet.
After school's participation activity
Does all the students needs to do the individual activity? While encouraging a strong participation, we understand it is not all the parents who will register their child for the after school activity. We will send to the teacher 3 ready-to-use invitation email with the booking link for them to send over to the parents to help with this.
