After school program for EFI students
Play and discover the world, in French
A series of cultural and playful activities, our mentors help Early French Immersion students engage in natural conversation to build their language skills and confidence.
Specifically, your child will:
Converse, read, and write in French with ease, using content adapted to their individual level.
Play and explore different French-speaking countries through authentic visuals presenting real-life stories shared by youth, for youth.
Contribute to a collective cultural map, leaving their mark on the French to Go map so learners can discover each other's research.
We tap into kids' natural curiosity and interest in play to keep them engaged in practicing their French outside of school.
Our mentorship techniques and unique materials are rooted in a major Eastern Canadian pedagogical breakthrough: the Neurolinguistic Approach.
Each session is highly personalized to match the child's French level, personality, and personal interests; your child is unique, and their French journey is, too.
The methodology behind the program, what makes French to Go unique
Each serie consists of 7 activities that reinforce each others to develop fluency in French around a specific grammar and vocabulary them. From speaking to reading, from writing to connecting and contributing, the conclusion of each path is an introduction to the vast Francophone world that they can explore and with which they can build connections, beyond French to Go.
Here is an overview of 7 activities:
Your child will choose a country and a game, embarking on a journey to discover a Francophone culture by interacting with unique visuals called authentic cards. The mentor will guide the conversation, encouraging your child to speak by responding to them, much like in a play! This creates a genuine dialogue and allows them to experience a Francophone moment tailored to their level of French.
Activity 4 : Read
Now that your child has spoken about a specific theme, it's time to revisit it in its written form to strengthen their comprehension.
Activity 5 : Write
Your child will be asked to write, by hand, a personal version on the theme covered throughout the sequence.
Activity 6 : Connect
Language is a relational tool, which is why we created the matching game. Here, your child will share their writing from Activity 5 to connect with other young people navigating a similar bilingual path. By posting their work alongside their peers, they’ll earn points in an interactive game. Because this activity is asynchronous, your child will love checking back to see how the game has evolved in the meantime!
Activity 7 : Go beyond
Finally, your child will choose an element that particularly interests them from one of the authentic maps they selected during the journey and conduct a little research about it before posting it on the French To Go collective culture world map. In doing so, they become contributors to a community of young explorers and transform their journey into a gateway to the tangible reality of a second language beyond Canadian borders.
