Sechelt is the paradise I found 6 years ago to live the low foot print lifestyle I always dreamed of and the place where I can give the best of myself to my community. French to go is a creative and mindful way for me to share with you a cultural and empowering journey to get you more comfortable in my native language.
I am active, I walk and I bike to move myself! Yup! Even on the Coast, I found a way to have no car.
I love to grow and cook food! My garden is my happy place and cooking my own veggies fills me up with energy and gratefulness, especially when I get to share with friends and family.
I care about well being! I grow food for my community I take time to be with my husband, to walk with my dog and to have a relaxing bubble bath from time to time.
After studying empowerment and cultural studies in Montreal's Universities, I biked with my husband in North and Central America, and learned to fluently speak Spanish. For us, travelling was a way to bring peace into the world: we believe that getting to know each other allows us to respect each other better. In Nicaragua, we were involved in gardening. When we got back to Quebec, our nomad hearts kept us travelling until we came on the Sunshine Coast. This is when Sechelt became our home!
Why offering French Tutoring on the Sunshine Coast? I was inspired to blend my knowledge and my skills to accompany you and your love ones on a learning or rediscovering journey of the French language!

What they say about French to go
Valerie is an exceptional tutor. I felt the immersive quality of her instruction was a key part in being able to improve my conversational French rapidly. Valerie worked with me weekly leading up to a trip to Nice, France and upon arriving in there I felt confident in practicing my language abilities in many settings including restaurants, train stations and social interactions. I look forward to continuing my French language studies with her practical and fun approach to learning.

Valerie has brought such joy into our family. We are an English speaking family with a desire to learn other languages. We have been working with her weekly since the Summer of 2019 and are still dedicated to her specialized teaching method. Valerie is teaching my 6 year old son how to speak French, through play. My son has learned to understand Valerie, and recognize French language and sight words. I have actually caught him speaking French on his own. Valerie has a remarkable way of interacting with children, she keeps my son engaged, entertained, and energized all in French. I am so grateful to have found Valerie and look forward to a long teaching and learning relationship.
